Kingdom Select Youth Soccer Club
Mission Statement
Kingdom Select is committed to providing an opportunity for our young people in Southwest Michigan to develop healthy life skills and individual/team playing skills through active participation in the wonderful game of soccer! Kingdom Select promotes the spirit of good sportsmanship, the challenge of competition, and the importance of pure enjoyment. Kingdom Select is committed to making soccer a pleasant, safe, and rewarding experience for youth through quality coaching and sound leadership.

On Field Features
Kingdom Select Team Head Coaches (HC) will remain parents who run all practices and games for the team.
Kingdom Professional Lead Coaches (PLC) will be the areas top coaches who will work with individual teams, HC, and players on an ongoing basis.
HC will receive support in the areas of running tryouts, year round coach training, and professional coach support.
Players will receive a more educated HC, will benefit from a professionally designed player development curriculum, oversight of a PLC, and access to many exclusive player development opportunities.
 
Off field features
Parents and players receive support and affiliation with Kingdom Soccer, the area’s only Professional Soccer Organization.
Tryout advertising, website updates, and uniform ordering will all be handled by the Kingdom Organization.
Administration of player registration, referee and field assignment, and the handling of all finances will be through the Kingdom Organization.
 
Participating leagues
Kingdom Select will play in the West Michigan Youth Soccer (WMYSA). U12 and above have an option of playing WMYSA / GVSA Elite.
 
Tryouts & Registration: Players must pre-register online for tryouts.
Tryouts will be held June 16 - 17 and a complete tryout schedule is posted on the Kingdom web site at www.kalamazookingdom.com. Kingdom Select players will not be bound by geographical boundaries.
 
Kingdom Select Training:
All teams will practice once a week at an area site. A PLC will assist HC with five hours of team training during a season. This time will be spent on the field with the HC and players executing the Kingdom Select Curriculum.
 
Playing Time:
Kingdom Select players are guaranteed 50% playing time. Playing time and positions will be determined by the coaching staff, based on a player’s performance at practice and while competing.
 
Kingdom Select fees:
U9 – U14 age groups playing 2 seasons (fall and spring) cost is $199 fall and $99 spring
U15 age groups and up playing one season is $199
Each player uniform cost is $99. For returning teams uniforms will be changed in 2009.
Uniform consists of two Nike jerseys, one pair of shorts and two pairs of socks.
All uniform ordering will be done through the team manager within certain time frames to be announced.
 
Scholarships:
A limited number of scholarships are available each year to in-need players offered a spot on a Kingdom Select team. The scholarship application requires submission by the parent or legal guardian of a player to supply a copy of their previous year’s tax return with a completed scholarship application to Kingdom Indoor Center by June 20th. Scholarship decisions are finalized in late June and scholarships are awarded by July 10. Scholarship information will be available beginning June 1st at KIC.
 
Player Code of Conduct:
All players are required to sign a code of conduct to participate on a Kingdom Reserves or Kingdom Select team.
