Portage, MI (April 4, 2007) - Kingdom Soccer will kick off its 11th season offering youth summer soccer camps in June with camps planned for Portage, Vicksburg, Mattawan, Comstock, Battle Creek, Plainwell, and Gull Lake.
Kingdom camps are designed for kids 2 to 16 years old in age- and skill-appropriate camps: Micro Kickers, Mini Kickers, Skill Builders, and Elite. The camp lineup also includes goalkeeper camps and a pre-season high school camp at Kingdom Indoor Center (KIC) in Portage in early August.
Joshua Pfeil, assistant manager of KIC, will serve as camp director for the more than 1,000 kids who annually participate in Kingdom's summer soccer camps. Pfeil will head up a legion of area collegiate-level soccer players who will teach the kids how to improve their skills and have a fun week of camp.
Pfeil played soccer for two years at Delta College in Saginaw, has served as a varsity head coach in the Saginaw area, and gained two years of experience as a head coach for the Saginaw Township Soccer Association, working with club and premier teams in the U-11 to U-13 age groups. He holds a USSF E license and has been running indoor training sessions at KIC over the winter.
"In our indoor facility and with our Kingdom Select teams, Josh has demonstrated his ability to connect with kids and inspire them to excel," Keenan said. "He understands the Kingdom's role in the community and will greatly help us continue to grow the sport of soccer in Southwest Michigan."
