Portage, MI (April 18, 2007) - Kingdom Reserves Premier Youth Soccer Club has signed the area's top collegiate and high school soccer coaches to head up U-12 to U-18 girls and boys teams for the 2007-2008 seasons.
An informational meeting for prospective under-12 players is planned for 6:15 p.m. May 16 at Kingdom Indoor Center, 8151 Merchant Place in Portage. All age-appropriate players (8-1-96 to 8-1-89) and parents are welcome to attend.
The Reserves 2007-2008 line-up of coaches features former professional and collegiate players, including Western Michigan University men's varsity head coach Chris Karwoski and assistant coach Chad Wiseman, Mike Haines, head coach of WMU's varsity women's team and assistant coaches Matt Kellogg and Erin Carlson. Kingdom owner Chris Keenan, Kingdom director of coaching, will serve as head coach of the U-14 girl's squad.
Area varsity high school coaches tapped for Reserves coaching positions are Andy Fuehr-Portage Northern, Chad Wiseman-Plainwell, and Adam Kurth-Gull Lake. All Reserves coaches have attained a United States Soccer Federation coaching license.
Kingdom Reserves compete in the Michigan State Premier League and the Michigan Champions League and the club is open to all age-appropriate soccer players. Club tryouts are planned for the week of June 11 at Ramona Park in Portage.
