Portage, MI (April 25, 2007) - Kingdom Soccer will host an informational meeting for players and families interested in participating in the organization's soccer travel club-Kingdom Select - at 7:15 p.m. May 16 at Kingdom Indoor Center, 8151 Merchant Place in Portage.
Kingdom Select is Southwest Michigan's newest select-level youth club that prides itself on professionally developing talented, motivated young athletes. Kingdom Select teams compete against other select clubs within a one-hour radius of Kalamazoo. In its inaugural 2006/2007 season, Kingdom Select fielded 16 teams and is looking to add teams to the club when tryouts are held June 18-21 at Ramona Park in Portage.
The club hosts boys and girls teams in the under-9 through under-18 age groups. Note that talented under-8-year-old players are eligible to play. Kingdom Select has no geographic boundaries, and the teams can be based in communities throughout Southwest Michigan.
Kingdom Select Soccer is also looking for new coaches, including parent coaches, willing to be a good leader and role model both on and off the field for these youth soccer players. The Kingdom's professional coaching staff that includes many of Southwest Michigan's finest collegiate and high school soccer coaches will work with the coaches and their teams at weekly practices to help create an educational and successful environment.
