KINGDOM SOCCER COACHING LINEUP
2008 SUPER Y LEAGUE ANNOUNCED
Kalamazoo, MI – (Monday, November 26, 2007) - For immediate release: Kingdom Soccer Announces Coaching staff for the 2008 Y-League season. For the sixth season running, Kingdom Soccer will field teams in United Soccer Leagues Super Y-league, A North American youth soccer league for elite-level players.
Kingdom Reserves, the Kingdom’s youth club that hosts Super Y-League teams, is currently rated by USL as No. 6 in the country—a ranking earned from having three to four teams in each of the last four years qualify for the Super Y-League National Championships held each November in Tampa. Kingdom Reserves will form teams for boys and girls in the U-13 to U-17 age groups to compete for a national championship.
“We consider it an honor and privilege to represent West Michigan in the Super Y-League,” said Kingdom owner Chris Keenan. “Super Y is a national league offering regional competition in the summer for West Michigan’s best players. Our teams are coached by the area’s finest collegiate and high school coaches and the advanced-level training and match competition against the Midwest’s powerhouse clubs cannot be replicated at any summertime camp. We encourage players from across West Michigan to attend our tryouts.”
OLYMPIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (ODP)
The Super Y-League is an official Olympic Development Program (ODP) of US Soccer. Upon conclusion of the season (late July), players are selected via Y-League coach evaluations for regional ODP Teams. The players selected to play on an ODP team will attend a National ODP Camp in Florida. These players are identified as the nation’s top talent in their respective age groups and they are scouted for selection to US National Team Programs.
ABOUT THE USL SUPER Y-LEAGUE
The future of soccer lives in the USL Super Y-League, a professionalized system that is the first step for developing elite youth soccer players in North America. Affiliated with US Soccer and partnered with US Club Soccer, the league is designed for talented youth players destined for professional careers. The league contains the youth academies of USL First Division, USL Second Division, Premier Development League, W-League, and Major League Soccer clubs, as well as many of the established premier youth clubs. TRYOUTS
The Kingdom Youth Soccer Club will host 2008 Super Y-League tryouts in the coming months at the Kingdom Indoor Center, 8151 Merchant Place, in Portage.
There is a $10.00 player try-out fee (payable with online registration)
- Tryout information: Shin guards are mandatory. It is recommended all players bring a ball and a water bottle to the tryout and arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start time.
- Returning players to Super Y (played Super Y-League for Kingdom in the 2007 season) need to bring the following to the tryout: Two (2) one-inch player photos (facial) and a completed US Club Medical Release form..
- New players to Kingdom Super Y-League need to bring the following to the tryout: Two (2) one-inch photos (facial), a completed US Club Medical Release form and a photocopy of player’s birth certificate.

Kingdom Soccer was founded in 1995 and currently operates the organization from Kingdom Indoor Center (KIC) in Portage, a 60,000-square-foot multi-sport league and training facility. Kingdom also operates Kingdom Summer Soccer Camps and two youth development soccer clubs: Kingdom Select and Kingdom Reserves Premier.
